Correctional Education Association Region 1

The Petey Greene Program supplements education in correctional institutions by preparing volunteers, primarily college students, to provide free, quality tutoring and related programming to support the academic achievement of incarcerated people. We are a nonprofit organization whose staff recruit, train, and coordinate volunteer tutors. 

We support teachers by providing assistance to students who need extra help. Currently, Petey Greene runs tutoring programs at correctional facilities in seven northeastern states: RI, MA, CT, NY, NJ, PA, and DC/Maryland.
